  1. What is living history?

Living history is the interpretation of the past from archaeological and written evidence that has survived. Whilst it can never be an exact and 100% true interpretation of the past, we aim to ensure we are as close as possible, and our displays are as authentic as we can make them.
The early 17th century was very different from today's society, and they interpreted the world in a completely different way to us, but there are still many parallels. Living history enables people to gain an impression and feeling for what life was like at the time, and how this compares to the life they live today. There is no better way to learn about history than being 'hands on' and being able to touch and discover it for yourself.
  2. How can we book the society?

Just give us a call or send us an e-mail.
  3. Is the society insured?

The 1605 Living History Society are fully insured to £5,000,000 for Public Liability. We take the utmost care to ensure that our displays and talks, whilst being fun, are completely safe. A certificate of insurance and risk assessments can be provided upon request.
  4. What do we need to do to prepare for your visit?

We have produced guidelines on what to do to prepare for our school workshops, but will arrange a visit before the event to ensure we accommodate your needs.
  5. Do you have CRB disclosures?

  7. How much space is required?

We need a space equivalent to a classroom for each workshop, plus a large clear area for dance.
